What to tell us
A few details help us arrive prepared. Anything you are unsure of, leave blank; the visit fills the gaps.
- Which room the rooflight is for, and what the room is used for.
- Whether the roof above is flat or pitched, and what it is covered with if you know: slate, tile, felt or something else.
- Whether you want a new rooflight or are replacing one.
- Anything going wrong with an existing one: drips, mist between the panes, a puddle on the glass, or rain that sounds too loud.
- Your town or village, so we can check it is within our 30 road miles.
A photo of the room and one of the roof, sent by WhatsApp, are a great help.
At the visit
We look at the roof outside and the room inside, and talk through how you use the space. The pitch and covering, the structure around a new opening, the way water leaves a flat roof and how exposed that slope is all shape what we recommend. If the house is listed, or stands in a conservation area, on Gower or inside Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, we talk about consents at the same time.
After it
A fixed written quote follows, for the unit we recommend. Where the work is notifiable, the Building Regulations notification is ours to handle, and every job carries our 10-year workmanship guarantee in writing.
